The first day was just awesome!
I have arrived in the US on Saturday night, and spent most time until now trying to get accomodated to the new time zone. I certainly haven’t managed that yet since I have been waking up at about 4am every morning in US.
Well, I have a great studio I’m living in and a really good car (Toyota Corolla). I’m sorry I don’t have any pictures yet, but I forgot my camera at home and the phone camera is pretty crap. I’ll soon buy a camera since I’ve seen some pretty good prices around.
So first day was mostly orientation and organizatoric stuff. I’ve met the other interns starting at the same time with me (about 20) and my peer mentor. He seems like a nice, friendly guy who is very willing to help me. I won’t give names any here since I didn’t ask for permission.
Today, I’ll apply for a social security number, open bank account, get settled in my new office (I’ll have 3 workstations, just wow), and .. we’ll see what the day has in store for me.
Thursday is hiking day, Friday is free (Independence day), I don’t need to be in the office at any specific hours, I can play football or surf the net in my job time, free drinks, sport fields. The question: when do actually this guys get their jobs done? And I’m very motivated to get my job done!
First day: Microsoft RULZ!
